Named for a rare Highland flower

Period character, dressed for a comfortable modern stay

The Twinflower takes its name from a delicate wildflower found in the old Caledonian pine forests around Speyside, and there's a little of that same quiet character here. It's an early-1900s townhouse with soaring ceilings and tall period windows, decorated throughout in a warm, uncomplicated palette of caramel and cream.

Downstairs, the wood-burning fireplace anchors an open-plan living and dining room, with a separate, fully equipped kitchen (Nespresso machine included) just off it for cooking up whatever the Speyside larders provide. Upstairs and into the attic, three bedrooms sleep six in comfort, with a dedicated desk under a roof light for the days you need to check email before the hills call.

It sits right on Grantown-on-Spey's historic High Street: an easier, quieter alternative to busier Aviemore, around twenty minutes down the road, with the Speyside Whisky Trail, the River Spey and the Cairngorms National Park all close at hand.
